I went to the doctor yesterday. First appt. My pregnancy is being considered a High Risk because of my weight. I’m literally healthy other then my weight. And it’s freaking me out. They are going to be monitoring me the last 4 weeks for my pregnancy two times a week. Etc. With my first child I didn’t have this at all. We moved cities and insurance and it’s all just a little overwhelming for me. Didn’t know if anyone else had been through this or not...  Thank you

Being a higher weight DOES make you a higher risk for a lot of complications with pregnancy, birth, and drastically increases the chances of having a baby with physical or mental problems. 
Eat a healthy diet so you can lose some weight and prevent gaining weight. And no, perfectly healthy except being fat isnt a thing.

That sounds like a bit of overkill. But the reality is that as overweight/obese women we are at higher risk for issues during pregnancy. More often than not drs do the bare minimum unless something goes wrong. That's what jappened with my first 2 pregnancies and they ended up with a ruptured ectopic and 9 week mc.  After each one i knew to ask more questions and for more tests. But each time i learned something kew that could have been done to avoid the worst cases i dealt with. So this time I've been on top of thi gs from the beginning but i still wonder if something later i  pregnancy might happen that vould have been caught.
So i think your drs being overly caurious is a good thing and i wouldn't worry about it unless something actually appears wrong. Think of it as extra attentio. That tons of pregnant ladies on here would love to have from their drs.  And since you're otherwise healthy you're probably gonna be fine. Enjoy being pregnant :)

Please don’t stress yourself out ladies. I feel like things are so exaggerated on your side of the pond. Yeah, it’s ideal if we were a lighter weight for our pregnancies but we’re not and there’s not much that can be done about it. 
I’m in the UK, I have a BMI of 40 and my first pregnancy was not a high risk one. I didn’t get preaclampsia. I didn’t get gestational diabetes. My pregnancy was a very healthy pregnancy. Nobody made me feel shit about my weight. And now I’m pregnant again 🤷🏼‍♀️ nobody has said anything. It is what it is

My pregnancy is classed as high risk due to my BMI. 
Do not panic!! It’s actually been a blessing!
I have had many extra appointments which are amazing because I get to see my baby on the scans a lot more often than other ladies! Puts your mind a ease if you’re a worrier like me! 
Touch wood no complications yet and I’m 30 weeks, got another scan in 2 weeks! 
Just think of it like that! Relax 💆🏼‍♀️

I’ll be considered high risk bc of health issues but i don’t think high risk always means something will go wrong. It just means they will monitor you more, which is a good thing sometimes. Especially if something goes wrong, they can catch it early
