We were NOT ready. You should be!

Ladies, this story sucks but I want to share it with you in case it helps one of you later. My husband and I just spent a lot of money on an insurance policy that didn’t come CLOSE to covering our needs.

Basically, we’ve always used the health insurance plan that came with my husband’s job, which is basic, but it’s been totally fine since neither of us had any major medical problems.

Once I got pregnant (yay!!!) I started seeing the doctor every month for the first few months of my pregnancy. But… I got a huge bill from one of my appointments without ANY warning 😭😭😭 it turned out that my insurance didn’t cover all types of screening tests. So either we spent a ton of money (it was like $1000s per test) or we don’t know if our baby is even healthy at all!

Anyway we decided to switch our health insurance plan in December during open enrollment and thank goodness for that

Before your little one enters the world, definitely talk about insurance with your husband. 💏 This would have saved us so much money! We probably saved over $5k since adjusting our insurance compared to our old plan, but we already wasted almost $9k already. Hopefully this helps other not make the same mistake!

If anybody wants our recommendation, we used this site which I would recommend because it ended up being a godsend. Good luck girls!!
