What to do?

I'm 42. I got off the pill this summer. Doctor told me to wait 3 months before TTC to give my uterus lining time to thicken. She saw no reason I couldn't get pregnant. Fast forward. We've been TTC for 4 months. BFN this morning. Cramping and sore nips but no bleeding. AF due today. I turn 43 in 3 months. Do I start the fertility process now or wait 2 more months?
UPDATE: AF came. OB/Gyn ordered blood work to see current status and make sure it's not too late. I had CD3 blood work drawn yesterday. Nurse called today and it all looked normal/healthy, which is good. More blood work on CD21. Waiting for my first fertility clinic appointment. Thank you for all the support!

Do. Not. Wait. It may already be too late for IVF. At 42, it was for me with three failed IVF cycles and now 3 failed IUIs. I do not respond to drugs but ovulate every month naturally so IVF did not win me anything (it’s a numbers game). You need to get a fertility workup: FSH, AMH, antral follicle count, progesterone levels, husband’s swimmers. I do not have anything but age wrong (I foolishly waited based on bad advice from my gyno after a horrible dental nerve injury at 39). But age is THE thing, as most eggs are abnormal in all women at 40 and by 44 there is only a 1 percent chance of pregnancy. This all sucks really bad.

I'm 39 and ttc for 14 months now past 3 assisted time is of the essence I'd start looking into options if I were you nothing wrong with giving yourself a boost baby dust good luck
