So I currently work at a daycare as a lead toddler teacher and make 10.50. But my friends are making so much more then me like my friend at welsfargo that is a lead teller and making 15.50.

If youve worked for welsfargo, how is working there ? Is there a lot of advancement opportunity? I need a better high paying job until I am finished with my degree.

I personally have worked for wells Fargo as a lead teller. It is a very high demanding job worth a lot of responsibilities. You do have quotas/referrals to meet every month which are getting people to open checking/savings/loans/ira/investment accounts. Of you do not meet your goals you can be terminated. That's how i ended up missing my job there. Sales just want my strength. Lots of room for advancement but it's tough to climb the ladder. Good luck.

I have never worked at Wells Fargo but generally tellers (depending on where you live) start making between $9.5-12.50/hr. If your friend is a head/lead teller she makes more because she is responsible for all of the audit duties and is supervisor for the tellers at her branch. Working at a bank can be great for a career. I started as part time teller, then teller supervisor, personal banker and now I work in one of the corporate offices as an anti-money laundering investigator. There are a lot of paths you can take once you start as a teller.

My husband did corporate banking for Wells Fargo for 3 years, and enjoyed it. He didn't however, do the type of banking you're talking about. He handled loans of 10 million and more for corporations. However, he said the company itself is a great company to work for. We got great insurance, they matched really well with his 401k, and they paid really well too :) I encourage you to check them out.

It's Wells Fargo. I worked as a Lead Teller at a credit union in Charlotte, NC for three years. Wells Fargo's based here on the East coast so I've heard a lot about them and have friends that work there. It's a very demanding job with lots of responsibilities; if something goes wrong it's all on you. It is possible to go from Lead/ head teller to a personal banker but it is hard to transition to back office if that is what you're ultimately interested in. When we have new employees come in and they have worked at Wells Fargo they say that they have to get a crazy amount of referrals and if they don't meet their goals they have to stay and cold call people until their goal is reached. They are so strict about that you can be fired for not referring enough checking or loans. I enjoyed working as a lead teller but it can be very stressful; to be honest I'm not sure if I would do it again. Go luck.
