4 days late

I am 4 days late.... Took a test this am and it was negative :/ I'm wondering if I should wait a few more days to test again? I'm not really having any symptoms... I was having mild cramping but that went away. I feel like I'm bleeding but when I go to check there is nothing... Just sometimes clear discharge.. Sometimes white. I did start a new job last month, so wondering if that has caused my cycle to get messed up! I hate this waiting game. I usually have done mild spotting a few days before my period which is never late!! And I have had anything!!!  I am so confused! Trying not to get my hopes up!!
