In the meantime...

While I wait for a response from my specialist (been waiting a week now but I do see her for a follow up 2/18)...i am curious why she is going the open myomectomy route instead of laparoscopically to remove my fibroid.

It is a pedunculated fibroid on top of my uterus...17cm. I am doing the Lupron therapy for helping shrink it and for cutting down on the vascularity for surgery.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of why she wouldn't want to do a laparoscopic surgery?
