My boyfriend and I have been together for 11 years...I have not so subtly dropped hints that this waiting for marriage thing is getting ridiculous. My mom passed away January of 2018 unexpectedly, after which I became super close to my aunt. I even invited her on vacation with my boyfriend’s family and myself last July. While on vacation our dog died while we were away and he rushed home to be with our other dogs which I wholeheartedly agreed with, I just didn’t want to leave early because my aunt was still with us there. Before we went on vacation my boyfriend’s brother and a friend of my family slipped up and made me think a proposal would be happening while on vacation but then the dog died. Then, I went to visit the aunt I had become close to in December and while we were out drinking together she slipped up and said “He’s had that damn ring for a while”. Then she slipped up again just recently along similar lines so I pestered her about it. So, she caved and said he had it all planned out to propose back in July while on vacation but because of everything that happened with the dog it obviously didn’t go as planned. Now, I’m sitting here thinking well hell....why the hell hasn’t he done it now??!?!? I’m wondering if he thinks it needs to be this big thing and it really doesn’t, but also...that’s so cute that he thinks he needs to find the perfect moment! My birthday is January 31st so maybe? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
