*disclaimer*: No, I’m not trying to have a baby any time soon and I’m using two forms of birth control. I just want some experiences or some other points of view.

I was just wondering when everyone else’s doctors/midwives told them that it was okay to start trying for another baby after a c-section? I just had my 6 week postpartum appointment and everything went really well. I’m healing up wonderfully, and have zero pain or complications. So, when I asked my doctor when my husband and I could start trying again I was shocked when my doctor told me she wanted me to wait a full 2 years to even start trying! No reason was given other than the fact that that’s how long they like to see in between conception/births. It too me almost 2 years to conceive my son and we want our children to be decently close in age, but with that gap I’m looking at 5 years between births. I explained to her that I struggled the first time and will most likely struggle again and she basically said come back in two years and we’ll “help you.” Yeah... Because they totally “helped” me the first time 🙄

Before I had my son I read that a lot of people were given the okay after 6-8 months so I’m looking for some sort of consensus or what the majority of doctors say.
