Almost miscarried twins

I started heavy bleeding Saturday evening around 10 , I waited till 3am before going to ER. The doctor could only find 1 heartbeat on the dopler but said because I was 12 weeks and 5 days it's harder to get both twins. I had a pelvic exam and the bleeding was slowing down. He says I possibly had a small separation in one of the placentas. The bleeding continued to slow and a few hours after being home I passed a large clot. The bleeding started again and stopped. Now it looks like the bleeding is gone but I've had contractions for weeks, I've read 50% of cases in bleeding end in miscarriage. I've been taking it easy for weeks and now I'm completely bed ridden. Anyone else experience bleeding and carry to term? I don't want to loose my twins I'm completely panicked.
