Anyone had a membrane sweep before?!

My babygirl is due Monday, this is my second baby my son is 7, I’ve never had a membrane sweep before but I just had my 39 week checkup and she did a membrane sweep, I am only 1 cm dilated and about 70 percent effaced. I’m miserable and so ready to have this baby . I know getting a sweep doesn’t always do anything, but I was wondering if anyone has had it done and if it did do anything for them.

oh God I've had too many, I had three with my first. two with my second give with my girl (in the end I had to be induced) and only one with my little boy. I couldn't say if they work or not. All I know is there's slight pains afterwards.

I had a sweep with both my babies but I was 40 weeks both times. I went into labour the next with both 😊

I had 2 done with my son. I was 1cm as well. Didn’t do anything. I ended up being induced. It only does something if the body/baby are ready. So some people it works others it doesn’t but doesn’t hurt to try because you never know!

I was 40 weeks and 3cm dilated when I had mine done. Ended up having to be induced at 41 weeks and five days. The sweep didn’t really do anything for me but make me a bit uncomfortable for about 30 minutes and caused some bloody snow.

I had one with my first, second, and third children. The first two didn’t hurt at all and they also didn’t work. The membrane sweep with my son hurt like a bitch and I went into labor two days later. I don’t think I’ll do it again.

I got one the day i was 40 weeks and started having contractions throughout the next three days. And then went into labor on 40 weeks 3 days :)

I had one done when I was due my daughter, the following morning my contractions started, that night I was in hospital as I had dilated, the next day my princess was born 😍

I had sweeps with both kids, with my first they sweeped me once and labor started a couple of hours after that. With my second they sweeped me 3 times in one day and she was born that same day.

I had two with my first and still had to be induced. I refused them with the other ones. They aren’t effective, and they’re painful. It’s not worth it to me.
