Would you get mad/upset If your baby took his first steps at inlaws and they didn’t tell you?

So my son is 15months I’ve been waiting for him to start walking he finally took his “first” steps a couple days ago. I was so exited told my inlaws and they told me he had already walked at their house last week! I might be crazy but it makes me mad because I’ve been so worried about him not walking and they didn’t let me know. Am I crazy?

This is just food for thought. My sons daycare has a common policy where if a ‘first’ occurs while they’re caring for the child, they don’t tell the parents because they don’t want to take away that joy and excitement of experience.
This is a bit different as you mentioned being concerned that your child had not yet walked. My guess would be that your in-laws didn’t want to take this moment from you. Had your child not walked for a lengthier period of time before you were witness, they likely would have brought it to your attention to alleviate any concern. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This would make me so cross, I’d probably cry. My son is still yet to stand alone never mind taking a step so it’s a huge deal! They sort of become real people once they start walking. They have all their independence and as mums we want to be proud of them etc and not miss out!

Honestly no your not crazy at all you being a normal mom. The fact that you've been waiting for your baby to walk is a huge step for both you and baby so I would think they called you right away to tell you. My baby has done a few firsts at my In laws but they will FaceTime us ASAP to show us or tell us. Don't get crazy on them but maybe passively just say hey next time call me as its happening you wanna get excited too. Congratulations sweetie though your baby is walking and that ONTOP of anything is great.
