If you went in the delivery room and your partner is on their phone, what would you do?

My bf and I were having this discussion then he said oh I’d be on my phone while I’m in there and I said he might as well be in the waiting room then. Delivering a baby requires support and I want people in there that are going to help me stay calm cause the birthing process sounds scary and hearing the horror stories make it worse.

No I’m not pregnant right now. I was curious about when or if that time happened to know who I can count on to help me through it.

I mean I doubt my husband will be on his phone when I’m pushing our baby out but I’m not going to ban him from his phone for eight hours

Depends on how far into labor. Are you pushing or just having contractions? Labor takes a while sometimes. My fiance slept while I was laboring with my first. But when I was actually pushing he was helping hold my leg and talking to me.

You can be in labor for 72 hours or more, when im needing support or active labor ornpushing the baby out he better be off his phone and focus on me, however if im not in active labor or progressing or pushing or requiring his support for comfort or whatever then i dont care. He can be on his phone. But if i ask he damn well better get off it to support me and give me comfort

During the labor of my 3rd baby, my husband slept the whole time. When I was ready to push I hollered at him ‘do you want to be awake for this or not?!’. He woke up and came to the bedside to hold my leg. I was pissed 😐 but to be fair, he had taken some muscle relaxants before my contractions started...

My labor was only 5-6 hours from contractions-delivery.

What is he supposed to do for hours? Honestly for the most part you’ll find out that labor is pretty boring.

I was on my phone for half my labor.

Like the others said, on his phone while I'm having contractions, dilating, going to the bathroom 600 times? Sure go for it. While I actually pushing? Naw, I need your focus. But it was never an issue we actually had to address

I only need his full attention when I'm pushing. Labor gets boring, I wouldn't blame him for being on his phone. But I also had the epidural so it was extra boring lol

My brother was by his wives side whenever she needed him. But he was also on his phone when she’d be sleeping or just relaxing(heck she was on her phone lol) When it was time to push, the phones went away.

He’s definitely not going to be on the phone while you’re delivering, and if he says he will, don’t get pregnant!

My husband was playing Tetris while I was labouring at the hospital 😂 🤦‍♀️ I was so mad at the time. Got pretty damn serious though when they started listing the dangers of an epidural for legal purposes lol
