My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship, I went to visit him over holiday and came back earlier this month, moving in with him in a few weeks. I was off my birth control at this point due to not being able to afford it since we were switching insurance. We used condoms but one may have broke. My period was supposed to start today but its always been somewhat irregular. Should I tell my mother my period is late even though its only been a day or should I wait a week before I take a test?

More info: I noticed odd CM a week after I came home, similar to thick egg whites, ive had headaches and had trouble sleeping a bit but that could just be anxiety. I have a little indigestion and loss of appetite.
