Anyone else feeling like they won’t be a good mom?

Question

All of my friends, family, and coworkers tell me that I will be a good mom but I am constantly worrying that I will not know what to do. I bought two packs of diapers and some friends immediately told me it was too many for one size and I could tell I took it way too personally. Anyone else afraid that they will keep messing up and not be a good mom?

Being a good mom has nothing to do with buying the correct number of diapers and everything to do with loving your child unconditionally. You’re going to make mistakes. Everyone does and you’ve never done this before so you can’t expect to be perfect, but being a good mom doesn’t mean you never make a mistake. Being a good mom means you show up for your child and love them without limits. You’ve got this Momma. Don’t stress over the small stuff!

That has nothing to do with being a good mom! A good mom will love their baby unconditionally, do anything for their baby, even if it means buying the wrong diapers because they just wanted to be sure their baby would have diapers. A good mom would worry they won’t be a good mom. I’m sure you’ll be great ❤️

I do! I worry about how to swaddle, will I be able to breastfeed, fighting with my husband around our kid, my husband doing something  dumb, getting the safest/best stuff for a kid. 
I think it's natural for us to worry about that stuff. As long as you love your child and provide a loving and caring environment, you should be good.

I have a 2 year old and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve asked my friends for an extra diaper, wipe, snack,  etc. doesn’t have to do with being a good mom, we’re all human, we’re juggling so much in our lives, we just forget or just don’t know. 
Being a good parent is way more than things like that, that your kid will never even remember. What they will remember is the unconditional love you have for them, the memories you make together, and just being there for them.

I felt like this with my first pregnancy! I would sit down and cry while my SO would reassure that i would be a great mom!

Nope not worried cause I’m already a mom. I did worry with my first though because I’d never changed a diaper, babysat and only held one baby before. Things come naturally once you have your baby, don’t worry about it!! Unless you bought like 6 packs of nb diapers, I’m sure it’s fine lol also has nothing to do with being a good mom.

Thats the whole point! You have to learn as you go by trial and error. I am an only child and honestly know nothing about babies but I'm calm as a cucumber because theres soo many resources out there now that our parents didnt have. Do your research, sign up for some parenting classes and you'll be just fine. We all survived, didnt we? ;) And like others have said, how many diapers you buy is NOT an indicator of being a good Mom. If you buy too many just sell them! Its better to be overprepared than underprepared. As long as you love your baby and do whats best for them, you will be a good Mom. ❤
