Anti-Kell positive blood
I found out yesterday that a a result of a poorly matched blood transfusion after the birth of my son 4.5 years ago, I am now positive for anti-Kell antibodies. Essentially, my body sees the baby as an autoimmune threat and is killing his red blood cells. Unlike Rh antigens, there is no shot or treatment for me. Basically extra ultrasounds and blood tests determine how badly my baby is affected, and I am looking at intrauterine blood transfusions, early delivery, and a NICU stay.
Have any other moms been anti-Kell positive and had good outcomes for their baby? Was your baby stillborn? I am so scared for my baby.
