Super long post ahead

So the other night (morning actually , around 4:50am) my bf and I were sound asleep and I heard one of my dogs barking , I went to the garage to see what was up and there was nothing so I shushed him and went back to bed , when I heard a mans voice saying “excuse me excuse me” so then I went to the door and without opening it go “yes”? , he replies , “your husky is in my backyard!!!” , My bf at this point heard and woke up and came running down the hall in his boxers not even knowing what was going on . I told the guy we’ll be right over to get him let me just put some clothes on and he goes “NO , IMMEDIATELY!” . Okay sir I’m sorry I get you’re mad but I’m not about to walk out in a t shirt and thong in 50 degree weather , so I got my robe , so did my bf & he went to get our stupid ass dog , we put him inside and everything was good.

Fast forward to today , I was getting ready for work this morning ( my bf was already at work) , I put the dogs out with their food as I usually do , let them pee and do their thing before I leave for work and put them back in (we don’t leave them outside anymore unless we’re home ). Well I’m not even joking in less than a 1 minute span , he was gone . I start freaking out because not even one month ago he escaped from our home and luckily the people that found him read his collar and saw our number on there and called us , so of course I’m thinking he’s gone for good this time especially since we live behind a Main Street and he can easily run onto traffic . Soo the first thing I do is check the front yard and the street , nothing . So then I check the back again and nothing , then I decide to look over our wall( while feeling like a total creep for looking into their house while they’re not home ) , and what do you know, there he was . I was so relieved but so pissed to see his dumb cute face there I seriously wanted to jump over and throw him back home but I knew that wouldn’t work .

So anyways , I called animal control that had gotten in touch with me the first night he got over after our neighbors reported it , and I told them my dog had gotten over the wall and I needed help . The cop told me that without a warrant he couldn’t legally enter their backyard to get my dog and that I would just have to wait til they got home . I was not about to be an anxious mess the whole time at work wondering if we’re going to have to pay $100s in furniture that my dog destroys not to mention they have 2 small dogs that my dog would EAT if they got on his bad side , so I told the cop I needed to do something immediately I couldn’t wait until 5pm (6 hours from then) , he said the only thing he can do is check his call log to see if their number was still there from when they called THANK GOD IT WAS . So he called her and she came home from work to let us in and get the dog . She was FURIOUS & I was honestly scared and didn’t blame her for being mad as I would have been mad to . Now is when my worries and questions come in ,

The cop told us that if he was to get over once again , they have to take him to the station until we fix the problem ( make the wall higher etc.) . Let me just tell you the image of our dog sitting in a cop car definitely lightened the mood for me lmao I was cracking up imagining him getting arrested , anyways back to the point ... has anyone ever had their dog go to the station ? Wether for attacking another dog or any reason ? I am doing everything I can to avoid it from happening again but I’m so scared he will jump in the blink of an eye and he’ll have to go 🚨 anything can happen there they can literally put him down if he gets aggressive with an anyone and I don’t want to happen to him . I don’t want to give up on him since he is a rescue from a family that was minutes away from putting him to sleep . I need tips if anyone has any on how to keep huskies entertained and stop them from being bad . We walk them at least 10 blocks every day sometimes more , give them bones that last hours , and give them much play time and activity time . I just don’t know what to do anymore besides obviously making some changes to our backyard which we are in the process of . I don’t want to have to keep them locked up in their crates whenever we’re out or at work . My bf put stakes in our backyard to leave them tied up while we’re gone but then there’s the worry that they may pull it out the dirt . I felt like I was loosing my mind this morning but feeling much more calm and just looking for any tips you may have . Thank you for reading my 4 chapter novel lol
