Any Preterm Baby success stories???!

Question

Hey Ladies I just need some positive vibes at this point. I’m currently 24 weeks and 3 days. I’m 4 cm dilated but the doctors were able to stop the contractions. So I’m not in labor right now. But I do have to stay in the hospital until I deliver my son. It could be days, weeks or months until I have him. So far I’ve been hospitalized since Tuesday January 22, 2019 I’m just so nervous with him being so small. He’s only 1 pound and 7oz. I just need to know of some successful preterm birth stories to ease my mind.

This is my daughter who was born at 26 weeks 5 days. She’s now 5 months old. She spent 88 days in the NICU but is home now and healthy and happy with no major issues :)

My nephew was born at 26 weeks. I do not remember his exact weight but it was around 2lbs. He did have a long stay in the NICU but he will be 2 years old in April and is doing amazing. He does do developmental therapy weekly but otherwise a completely healthy little boy. These pictures are from when he was born and his first birthday party.

I went into pre term labor at 23 weeks with my twins. They stopped active labor and I stayed in the hospital until 31 weeks when my twins decided it was time...so they were born 9 weeks early. One spent 35 days in the NICU  the other 47days and only to make weight to safely ride in a car seat home. They just turned 4. They have a slight delay with speech which they get therapy for, but that's been our only issue. Perfectly healthy and happy.

My youth pastors wife had her some at 29 weeks but he was as small as 24 weeker. He was 1 lb 10 oz at birth. Now je is 8 years old. He does have hearing issues but Im unaware if it is related. Otherwise completely healthy. My roommate had jer son at 32 weeks. He was 2 lbs 14 oz at birth. He is a year and 4 months old. Walking and running and starting to say quite a few words. So perfectly on track.

All my mom’s kids have been preterm. The earliest was an emergency C-section at about 28 weeks. My brother was in the NICU until his due date (12 weeks total) and now he’s turning7 next week. ☺️ he’s our spunky little miracle. Just do your best to do what the doctors prescribe. My mom was on bed rest at the hospital for 2 weeks before they decided on the C-section. Hope that helps and gives a little comfort!

My preterm labor with my first started at 29 weeks, at 32weeks I was 3cm dilated but ended up holding out til 37 weeks. With my second, I was dilated at 2cm at 24 weeks but made it to 32 weeks. Shes a happy and healthy 1 year old now

My mother had a placental abruption at 30 weeks, my sister spent 8/9 weeks in ICU. No lasting damaging effects bar a mild speech impediment and she's skinny compared to other kids but her lungs developed quickly and she grew fast. The primary thing is to keep your little one in there long enough that their lungs have a chance to develop OK, or with some help of steroid shots. I know it's probably scary and you don't feel in control but rest as best you can. X sending love <3
