Induced?

Question

What is it like to be induced? There is a chance I will be induced on Saturday and I'm a little nervous. Doc said it could be quick or take like 3 days!

I was induced at 41 weeks x I had it at 4.30 pm and at 5pm it started it off straight away :) easy calm labour n next morning at 6am they broke my waters and had her at 7.43 am x

I've had a baby come on his own & been induced with one. Comparing the two.. The labor with baby that came on his own timing was much better. Pitocin tends to make contractions stronger. I won't ever be induced again. Not that it isn't bearable, because it is. Obviously, I'm still here. BUT just letting nature take its course, (unless medically necessary) is much better. In my particular case anyways.

I was induced at 39 weeks because I was so terribly uncomfortable.  I could barely walk.

I found the pitocin bearable and having my water broken was painless. When my contractions picked up, I asked for,  and received, an epidural.

If my baby had not been so large (10 lbs, 21.5"), my delivery would have been great.  As it was,  I had an episiotomy,  40 stitches,  vacuum assist, and a ton of blood loss.  None of that had to do with the induction.  In fact,  had I gone to 40 weeks or beyond,  I would have had terrible perineum trauma AND an emergency c section.  (My doctor was not good.)

Don't fear induction.  It's fine.
