Clients....hairstylists I know you can relate.

So I was at work today. And my coworker has this client. It’s his last one of the night. One of his regulars. Apparently yesterday she came in around noon to get haircuts. We were swamped. We opened at 10 and already had about 5 colors going between 3 of us hairstylists. And there were quite a bit of people signed in for haircuts. So we were pretty crazy busy.

Apparently we skipped this client. And I remember my boss talking when we finally slowed down and it was almost the end of the day. She was saying we accidentally skipped a client. That apparently never signed in. She came in and sat down.

Well my coworker is listening to her today about how she came in and got skipped, and how we all were talking about food. And how we were making that our #1 priority. ( us, hairstylists, who don’t always eat at work)

She stated that she had wrote our fb page that our boss takes care of. And told our boss how she was skipped and how we were only worried about ordering food. And not worried about a client walking in. And also stated that it was busy.

I over heard her reading the message our boss sent her and our boss said “I do apologize, we don’t intend to skip clients. As you could tell we were very busy which is no excuse. I do apologize for skipping you. And as for the food, we had to order our food because we are unable to go get food because of how busy we were, which again is no excuse”

If you come into a salon. And you don’t sign in. And you just sit down. We automatically assume that you are an appointment or waiting on someone who is already being taken care of. Yes we do accidentally skip clients when we are busy. We focus on a SIGN IN SHEET. If you’re name is not on it you can not expect us to know if you are signed in or not. Sometimes we get so busy if multiple people come in. We may greet you all as a group. Which some people may not hear and you think you weren’t greeted. We may get too busy to even say hello. A client in our chair may be telling me what she wants done. Im supposed to listen to her. Not make her repeat herself because I have to greet.

So no we don’t greet every single person that walks in. But we try. And for us to order food and to get pissed off because we were hungry and we could only have something delivered because we are too busy to go get anything !? We all went at least 4-5 hours without something to drink because we FORGOT to order drinks with our food.

WE ARE HAIRSTYLISTS!!!! We don’t have scheduled lunch breaks. We don’t get to sit half of the time. We’re on our feet for 8+ hours of the day no food nothing to drink. Trying to take care of customers who come in and are so ungrateful

We do our best to make every client happy! And some days that just doesn’t happen.

So ladies. Next time when you go into a salon. And you give your stylist attitude because we are making an order for food. Or on a quick bathroom break or someone ran to get drinks. Or if the wait is just simply too long for you to sit here and wait to get done. Think again. And think what if you were in our shoes ?

You wouldn’t appreciate customers coming in and giving you grief because you’re doing your job.
