How many diapers and what sizes?

Hi experienced mamas!
I’m a FTM in her 34th week trying to finalise last details (while not panicking) before baby comes (hopefully at 38w). 
How many diapers do I need for the first month? And assuming I’m having a regular sized baby, which sizes should I take for that first month? (I assume kids grow fast so I don’t want to stretch it and buy too many diapers she wouldn’t fit in)

I’d only buy one box of newborns and then 2 of each other at first. You don’t know when they will grow out of what size and how fast. My daughter always had to go up a size before the weight on the box was reached, too. That’s not always a good indicator. Shape of the baby has a lot to do with how the diapers fit not just weight.

My sister, best friend and mama all bought two big boxes of the highest count of huggies,and pampers so that was 4 large count boxes all together...congrats loves and prayers your way

From what I understand newborns go through 10-14 diapers a day in the first month. Unfortunately it’s hard to calculate how long they’ll be in each size when they’re that little.

My daughter was 8lb 3oz I don’t think we used a full box of newborn diapers with her. My son was 6lb 11oz and we used newborn diapers for about 3 weeks. I wouldn’t buy many of them maybe 1 or 2 boxes. My daughter was in 4s for a LONG time. None of the other sizes really spark any thoughts. Congrats on your babe! You definitely won’t regret stocking up on diapers

You use any where from 8-14 a day as newborns up until about 2 months old then it goes down a little.

Depending on how many come in the pack I'd say buy the bigger packs, as they arent in the new born nappies for long. if there is 42+ in a pack buy about 5/6 of those. I brought 4 and then when i was running low i then continued to buy them with the weekly shopping. Just so i knew i wouldn't have loads of spare new born nappies. Plus buy a few of the next sise too just incase as you never know.
