Thank goodness for preeclampsia!
Around 27 weeks my midwife suspected my placenta was detaching slowly. Being a midwife, she can’t handle a baby being born that early so off the the specialty hospital we went. Not only did they not check on my placenta they LAUGHED and sent me home!! Two weeks later, preeclampsia slowly started setting in. I was in and out of the “speciality hospital” until 33 weeks when they induced me because my preeclampsia got so severe. They broke my water and what do you know... tons of blood my placenta DID detach, even more now... emergency c section for me! My baby could have DIED!!! So so scary. We were in the nicu for three weeks and came home New Year’s Eve!
To think this gorgeous boys life could have been lost breaks my heart so much. I’m so grateful for preeclampsia in this pregnancy because I honestly believe I would have lost him otherwise.
Now he’s seven weeks old and I’m so very in love.
