Herpes stigma

Joanna

This is more a PSA than anything, but just in case: until the 70s, when they found a cure and needed to create a market, herpes was nbd. Like... 90% of adults have it in some form. But because they wanted to sell their product they used stigmatizing language to make people self conscious and ashamed so they would but the drug.

I'm not an antivaxxer or conspiracy nut. I just listen to a medical podcast and thought I'd share what I learned. It's called sawbones if anyone is curious, and is hosted by an MD and her husband.

I just thought it might ease some anxiety for some folks. Herpes = not a big deal. 😊
