Police bite dogs
To piggy back off the drug dog post a bit. On Friday my county sheriff's department lost one of its K9 officers. At the end a multiple county car chase a K9 was deployed it help apprehend the suspect and was shot at least twice and later passed. There have been a lot of comments asking why the human officers sent the dog basically on a suicide mission. The sheriff's office released a statement about the K9s body armor.

Should they have attempted a different means of apprehending the suspect that kept ALL officers (human and K9) safe?
I don't know how long it takes to put a vest on a K9, but my husbands vest (he is a officer) takes less than 30 seconds. Should they have spent the extra time to put the vest on the K9?
What are your thoughts?
RIP Chucky. 💙
