8wks no heartbeat but showed up at 9weeks

At my 8wks ultrasound we couldn’t detect fetal pole or heartbeat so my doctor told me to take Cytotec to end the pregnancy. I wasn’t ready and told her I would come back in a few days if it didn’t happen naturally. Started bleeding a few days later so I went back to see if it had passed. Hold and behold my scan showed a fetal pole and heartbeat but measuring 6wks when I should be 9. Doctor doesn’t think it’s viable but playing it safe and see what happens. Does anyone have a similar experience? Don’t want to get my hopes up
