Do you think a carseat with a handle is mandatory?

Okay so I've been searching around for carseats and found a nifty one that goes from newborn to booster. I've had a couple people say it's no big deal and a couple say I wont be able to survive without a handle to carry the car seat. So what's the deal? 
I personally dont plan on taking my newborn too many places that she will have to stay in a carseat so what do you guys think?

I couldn’t imagine having a infant carrier without a handle.

It’s certainly not mandatory, but it is more convenient. 
One thing I would check though is your Hospital’s policy regarding car seats, some do require you to have an infant car seat (the kind with the handle) that you can actually bring into the hospital in order to bring baby home.

I always found carrying baby to and from car was easier with the carrying carseats, while both have their advantages, i always found it challenging to buckle baby in a carseat thats already in the car, with a carrying carseat i would strap them in carry them to the car and lock it place with the base thats strapped into the car already. With the other carseat however it grows with your baby and you wont have to buy more than one carseat.

I used a baby wrap the first few months. Then stroller. The infant car seat is used for such a short time, for us it was not worth it. Plus I prefer wearing my babies when they're newborns. We got the graco 4ever.

It was for us but only because we had a winter baby in a cold climate. Otherwise, no.

I don’t use infant seats, they are a waste of money IMO which I learned the hard way when my 4th was born so big he out grew then seat in a few months! I just do convertible seats now that can rear face from 5 lbs up and forward face until 3 or 4!

I have used both. My parents got us the one that grows with your child and we ended up purchasing the infant one. To be honest the infant one was a life savor, especially when my son was sleeping or if we were out to eat. He’s now 10m and out grew it (he’s tall for his age, already over 30inches). But it’s perfect because we are expecting baby number two who can use it.

We went straight to a convertible seat. I wore my baby a lot and it hasn’t been an issue. There were maybe a handful of times when she was really young when I saw the value of an infant carrier, but usually was happy as is.
My baby really hated being set down anyways, so wearing her was an easy decision. I still barely use a stroller.

Oh my gosh I need the carrier with the handle. For little grocery store runs when you need one thing so you take the baby with but need to set the car seat down quick to open a door or what not. There’s times you won’t want to keep taking baby out of car seat when you can just take the entire carrier with.

I have a booster newborn that goes into toddler seat too. I’m not going to worry to much about a carrying one and if I need one I’ll look on Facebook marketplace LOL
