Alright this may seem a dumb question to ask, but I can’t tell if my family is homophobic or not. My mom seems ok with it all. But my dad is a different story. Whenever homosexuality is shown on TV he acts weird about it. He never says anything rude but he I can tell by looking at him it makes him feel uncomfortable. If I were to ask him he would never say he’s homophobic. My grandmother and him had said before that they are “putting so much gay out there”. They have said “I’m glad they are happy, but why make it so public? Keep it in a room!”. One last thing they have complained about is how “we” (they have no idea I’m lesbian) straights should have a pride parade. I have so many reasons on why they are wrong but I’m scared to argue. I don’t want to come out if it’ll make my life unsafe. Please help me figure out if I’ll be okay to come out or not.
