So I have been going to church with my boyfriend for a little over a year now, his dad is the preacher. It's a baptist church; my parents are strongly against baptist. My mom says she's Lutheran and refuses to come with me, yet hasn't been to any church in 9 years and my dad just doesn't want to go period. They asked me about joining the church by baptism and I said I had only talked to my bf about it once and wasn't sure. I'm shy and don't want people watching me even if that sounds crazy lol. I was "christened" as a baby but I recently got saved and I think baptism would be a good thing to do, especially since it would be the church's first one. But I don't think my family would like it and I don't know how to feel about it. Any thoughts??
