Mother in law from hell

I never ever thought I'd be here saying my mother in law is the biggest bitch. She is completely ruining my pregnancy by making it all about her and she's ruining my baby shower that will be in March. She's a very traditional person and iam not. I decided I wanted to help plan my baby shower (only a few things). My husband and I paid for the invitations but I asked for my mom and my mother in laws opinions through out the whole thing. I decided where I wanted it catered since my husband and I are chipping in on it as well. She can't understand why I'm planning my own shower because it's not "traditional". My husband and her were doing the guest list for his his side of the family as I've only met most of them 3 times. She only checked off 5 people my mom and I checked off 20 people on my side. My husband decided to invite more of his family without telling her and since I don't really know them I didn't say anything. Might I also add we live nowhere near my family or most of his (I'm originally from NY) his mom felt that if we knew certain people couldn't come then we shouldn't invite them and that we were being selfish if we did. I say let those people decide on there own if they want to come. Plus that would mean I couldn't invite my family since I know they won't be able to attend. Just the other day she got snippy with me in a text that included my mother and I ended up calling my husband crying. He finally stood up for me but then at the end of the day they made up but she's not speaking to me. I want an apology but my husband feels she doesn't need to apologize and that I need to let it blow over. What should I do ladies? This is really driving me insane.
