No, it would be unconstitutional here to pass a law like that. I do think the media should willingly stop mass circulating the photos of criminals such as school shooters and mass murderers and maybe refrain from using their name so we can stop giving these low lives fame. They should circulate and focus on the victims and police officers, or people who helped "save the day" instead. The effect of the high publicity these crimes get have been researched too and it seems reducing the circulation of the criminals name and image would reduce copy cats. The amount of people that wind up idolizing violent killers is disturbing. We don't need to give them so much publicity. I have stopped watching the news when these crimes are being sensationalized 24/7 for ratings. More people should stop tuning in so that they will change.

I’m on the fence - in a way I think yes because I feel like the media spreading names/photos of these people gives them the attention & hype they are looking for (they probably get a kick out of being “infamous” - kinda like that “any publicity is good publicity” ideal) and the media essentially gives them exactly what they want by plastering their name and face everywhere. Highlighting these kinds of crimes can also spark “copycats” too who go out and do the same thing resulting in more people being hurt. 
However, I also think no because of the whole “name and shame” thing. In a way I feel they lose any right to privacy the moment they commit their crimes. They shouldn’t be able to hide behind name suppression & should have to face what they have done. 
It’s a bit of a catch-22 situation 🤷🏻‍♀️

Serial killers and terrorists are very different, both should have their names and faces out there as it’s a very unlucky safety concern
