How to stop co-sleeping?

Question

I had zero plans to co-sleep. I’m fully aware of the risks associated with bed-sharing and would like to stop the behavior ASAP.
However, our 5 week old baby won’t sleep (overnight) anywhere but with me and my husband. We try to put him in his bassinet, and he just won’t sleep. He’ll cry and cry and cry and eventually we just get so defeated, and bring him back with us where he sleeps just fine. 
Any tips on how to get this kiddo out of our bed?

We live in Germany and here they encourage cosleeping because they say babies need their mother’s warmth and love and my pediatrician and midwife say that unless you are medicated or have been drinking you won’t roll over your baby because your body is so in-tune with the little ones cry and all the little noises he makes.
 I lay down on my back and put my arm around him, so he is in the nook of my elbow. We put a pillow under him so his head isn’t too elevated comparing to the rest of his body. It’s a little uncomfortable for me but I’m so tired I fall asleep anyways but it would require a lot of movement to roll anywhere like that. Now men don’t have the same hormones so it’s a little more likely for the husband to move and possibly harm the baby. So I’m keeping my boy on my side. I’m nervous everyday after reading about all the accidental suffocations but he won’t sleep otherwise. And all the sleep training advice I’m reading just pisses me off. He isn’t even 8 weeks old and all respectable sources say to hold off till he is at least 3 months old....

I dont have any tips as I'm in the same situation. I was quite against it but now I've just given in and am just making it as safe as possible. 
Tried the crib for 3.5 months and just got absolutely no sleep. Now I get a half decent night sleep. 
Moved the mattress on the floor, no sheets or comforter just a small blanket below the waist, it's been going okay. 
I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea though. Sorry I can't help you! Good luck.

My daughter slept better in the rock n play although that’s not recommended. I think she didn’t like being flat on her back. Just keep trying. Is he swaddled???

He’s only been outside of your body 5 weeks so it makes sense he wants to be close to you... is there a specific reason you want to stop bedsharing? It sounds like it’s helping the whole family rest.

Have you tried different types of swaddles? Halo? Love to dream? Merlin Sleep-suit? Also use a heating pad on the bassinet to warm it up before placing baby in (obviously remove heating pad before adding baby), turn it on medium and feed baby, once you’re done feeding place baby in warm bassinet. It worked for my daughter.

If you wanna make it safer look into something like a dock a tot. It creates a barrier between you and the baby without taking him out of your bed.

My son has been sleeping next to me in my bed since he was born. Look up the safe sleep 7 it will change your life. My son is 16 weeks old now and I got him an arms reach bassinet so he’s right next to me all the time
