I second the My Breast Friend. It clips on, stays in place, and is just incredible. Makes nursing super easy and you can use your hands for other stuff! Lol.

Personally I didn't care for it for feedings but I loved it when it for tummy time and support while sitting up.

I had s regular one and a nursing one, I gave them away because they were uncomfortable for me and my son didn’t seem to like them. I just used a oversized pillow which to me was more comfortable.

I got a brestfriend last time and loathed it. I got rid of it pretty quick. I got a boppy this time plus a friend gave me another. They’re great for positioning for nursing but you can also use them once baby is starting to sit up to sit behind them in case they fall back.

As a ftm when I was learning to breastfeed I loved it and it was so much help. Then I used it for tummy time after I had established ways that were comfortable to nurse. 
Second time around I used it a little for nursing to really relearn how to as it had been ten years. Then it was used to let baby sleep in during the day while I watched her and then tummy time.
My third it became a throw pillow. It was more in the way while nursing than helping me relax and hold the weight of the baby. I used it for tummy time but he quickly learned to crawl or push his way over it. 
I'll again use it for tummy time this go around until it's no longer useful but I doubt I'll need it for much more. So personally if your a ftm looking to breastfeed I could recommend definitely getting it but with pillows you could achieve the same end. It's a nice thing to have but not necessarily a necessity in my eyes.

Very useful. I breastfeed at first and used it all the time. But then we switch to formula and it helped support anyone while they fed her. It made it where you arms don’t get as tired or fall asleep.
