Hospital and doctor

So my husband and I have had our hospital picked out sense the beginning and done tours and classes at this hospitals. My doctor has just recently informed me that she doesn’t deliver there. However my husband and I still want to go to this hospital. My doctor suggested during my appointment yesterday that she could call ahead to arrange a doctor for me and I told her I would talk with my husband about it. So When my husband called to explain to the nurse what we decided she seemed upset about it.. am I missing something I’m a first time mom and don’t know much about how all this works?
