I’m a FTM and looking for feedback from others who have either completely skipped using an infant car seat and solely used a convertible one, or perhaps used an infant one for one child but not the other, or switched pretty quickly to the convertible.

I’m hoping to purchase just the convertible car seat. The stroller we are planning to get has an infant bassinet so I don’t need to worry about car seat compatibility with a stroller. I know I’d be foregoing the convenience of being able to move a sleeping baby in an infant car seat but I don’t want to be lugging one around if I can avoid it. I plan to baby wear as the primary means to move around, and we are planning to use a very lightweight travel stroller for everyday use. We also only have one car so there isn’t the need of being able to quickly switch the seat to different bases.

Am I setting myself up for failure by not going with an infant car seat? Thanks in advance for the feedback!
