Selfish to only BF no bottles at 6 weeks?

Question

So this week my daughter is 6 weeks old. Before I had her my mother was pressuring me to give her a bottle as I’ll have trouble down the line. This week I went to my first baby and mother group and most of the ladies there said they express a bottle or 2 so their partners can feed the baby as they need “a break”. But all their partners were at work all day.
Am I selfish that I don’t want to do that. My husband changes her and washes her and all the rest between feeds when he’s home from work. Since I’m on MAT leave that this is my job for the next while and I’ll give her a bottle in a few months. But is this being selfish?

Not being selfish but I would start introducing a bottle before babies 3months old, if you’re planning on still breastfeeding when you go back to work as some babies refuse a bottle if they not introduced to them early enough.

Not selfish but you may want to start introducing a bottle a couple times a week so she will not have an aversion when you go back to work. If you wait too long it might be an issue. And it's easier to get them to take a bottle if it's someone else like dad and not you because they are thinking hey what's this crap give me the boob! Lol

Not at all. You really want to regulate your supply before adding a pump in. Secondly, since you’ll be on leave for a short time enjoy the time with baby because you’ll be attached to the pump when you go back to work.

Definitely not selfish at all! But I will say, I have a friend whose 1 year old still will not take a bottle.
My daughter has gotten pumped bottles since birth (we had multiple latch issues on both of our parts and it was necessary to make sure she got enough to eat), and now she breastfeeds like a champ or will take a bottle interchangeably.  On a more selfish note, if I want the feeding and bonding time with her, I just give her the bottle instead of having my husband do it.

It’s not selfish but I can tell you first hand being I stay home with my son and he never really got many bottles that he would not take one months later. So I would try to at least give a bottle a day, every other day

Not at all. Ive breastfed five kids and my husband has never given them a bottle. He burps them, changes them, rocks them, holds them while we are out, etc. if dads were meant to feed babies, their boobs would fill with milk, not ours!!

No it’s not selfish. Every time baby gets a bottle you’re supposed to pump anyways so I never understood how that’s convenient for someone else to give baby a bottle. 
However some babies don’t want to take a bottle after only having the breast (and vice versa.) But up to you when you want to start.

Not selfish at all!! My daughter didn’t have a bottle until well after 6 MONTHS. Let the haters hate! I pumped and stored milk because I had a huge supply but she never got a bottle because she was never away from me

Not selfish at all! My baby only got bottles from dad if I took the time to pump and normally they were stored until times of need, like being away or being sick and needing help. Dad got to do a lot of other stuff with the baby and at 6 months dad started feeding baby foods. 
You’ll be going back to work soon enough, it’s not wrong of you to want to bare the main responsibility while your husband has been at work all day. I’m a SAHM but I’ve always had that mindset as well. As long as it works for you and your husband, I see no issue!

Not selfish at all BUT from experience you may have a hard time introducing a bottle later down the line. My boy would take a bottle every now and then when he was younger but I think we left too long a gap between bottle feeds and now he point blank refuses it. Tried every teat/bottle going, and all the tips online but nope! I was out without him for about 9 hours and he would not eat til I got home 😫 poor dad was losing his mind by the time I got in!
