TMI: First REAL period after birth (PLEASE HELP)

I’m seven months pp and I got my period this week. IT HAS BEEN HELL! 🥵 but, only because of the bleeding. The cramps I can deal with they’re not so terrible. Last night about two hours after changing pads, I ended up back in the bathroom taking a shower. why you may ask, well because THE PAD OVERFLOWED BLOOD WAS NOW SOAKING INTO THE FROMT OF MY SLEEPING SHORTS!

I went in the shower and let me tell y’all, I pushed to see what would happen and blood just flowed out . It looked like a crime scene in the bathtub!

I guess my question here is, IS THIS NORMAL ?! like should I go buy some adult diapers and enjoy the ride or should I go see a doctor or maybe call 911 and tell them I’m dying!? I also breastfeed, not sure if that’s important.
