Vaccine update?

So with all of these measles outbreaks happening and now there are some cases in Georgia, should I get an update on my MMR vaccine while breastfeeding since that particular vaccine is not given until 12 months. I'm just so worried about my little girl. I'm hoping to call the health department tomorrow and see if it is an option.

They can check your titers (level of your antibody against MMR), if you are low they will update you. If you are still at good levels you are fine. It’s sad that we have to worry about this. My friend took her 2 week old to the pediatrician for a normal check up and another kid in the waiting room had measles. Now my friend has to wait 1 week to see if her daughter gets symptoms and is infected. My friend is so stressed and has been crying every day 🙁 and praying to God her daughter doesn’t get sick

I would talk with your doc or public health nurse - I don’t think that enough of the antibodies from the transfer through breast milk to protect babe. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure. Which sucks and makes the situation extra scary 😭

I’ve been told by my practitioner that the immunity doesn’t pass through breast milk, but rather getting the shot during pregnancy
