Have your babies been sick yet?

My son is almost 6 months and has his first cold. I am so worried (FTM) if you e been through it please let me know how it was and how you made them feel better

my babe has rsv around xmas. Never kicked the cough or mucus. Had a sinus infection and ear infection and was on 10 days of amoxicillin. no change. going back to the doctor today. poor girl cannot catch a break. damn daycare germs

My baby hasn’t been sick yet but her sister got sick when she was 7 months and literally couldn’t hold anyyyyythingggg in. Not even water. If she took in anything, it’d come right back up. She had to go to the emergency room and get an iv of fluids and then was sent home with a script of liquid zofran. It was so bad. I didn’t think a baby could puke that much

At 3 months our daughter had a nasty cold. We rolled a towel up under her mattress to elevate her head to allow for drainage, Lots of saline spray and suctioning. Cool mist humidifier, peppermint essential oils diffused, I slept in her room too. She had a 101 fever the entire time. It took about 5 days start to finish.

Not really. She has had a cough for a couple days and a stuffy nose. I went to take to a pharmacist about which cough syrup to get, she broke it down for me and gave some great advice. She was saying medicine for babies is mostly to make parents feel better. Obliviously if they have something serious take them to a doctor. Was just refreshing to have a medical professional not push a prescription

Mine has had a cold since starting daycare, the flu and now rsv. The more severe sickness just bring them back to the newborn stage but nothing to be nervous about. Good luck!

My son had a cold at around 3 months I think it was. It was horrible. Couldn't do anything to help him just had to wait it out. I took him to get seen and because there was no sign of him being in pain just a cold we was advised to just give him calpol.

My daughter had her first cold at four months ftm here also. We did a lot of saline and nose Freda lol. Warm bath a lot of snuggles. Tylenol. Didn’t force feed if she wasn’t hungry she just wasn’t hungry although when she didn’t and was vomiting pedialyte was her best friend and just lots of sleep

Yup, lots of snuggles!! Tylenol if they are uncomfortable but call pediatrician for dose. Also... calling the pediatrician might just put your mind at ease, they will tell you what to watch for and when they should be seen if at all. Tip: if you think they have a fever, I learned taking temp under her arm was not accurate so I took a rectal temp. When her under arm temp was 99, I got 102.5 rectally- much more accurate! You’re doing great!! Hope baby is healthy and back to normal soon!

Yep...my LO will be 6 months on the 7th and goes to daycare.  She has had RSV twice, an ear infection, and a stomach bug where she has diarrhea pretty bad for a few days.  Sucks but hoping she's building an awesome immune system.
