How long did you TTC before asking for help?

Around October 2017 i stopped taking birth control for about 8 months my husband and I weren’t really “trying” but not preventing at all either and kind of hoping to get pregnant.. Around May or June 2018 is when we started trying. Taking prenatals, OPKs, taking temp, and last month tried pre seed and still no luck.. In October 2018 i had surgery for endometriosis and found out i have stage 4... HSG in December shows my tubes are clear but i don’t know why i haven’t gotten pregnant with clear tubes.. when should i ask my dr for help? All together it’s been about 16 months.

If you’re under 35 they say to ask for help after 1 yr of trying.For over 35 is 6 months.I tried for 6 months (I’m 36)and after nothing I went to a fertility doctor.All my tests were normal but my husbands SA was low,his morphology was 1% so my doctor explained the possibility the sperm would penetrate the egg was low to none so IVF would be our only chance. So it depends on your age and if you’ve done all tests and it came back normal I’d seek help.

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. Went off bc while hubby was deployed, started sort of trying in March 2017. Started really trying after about 6 months. At about a year we got some fertility testing done an I had an HSG at about a year and a half of trying. My tubes were clear so my GYN asked if i wanted to try clomid in November 2018. We got pregnant on the first round and I'm 6 weeks now!

We went into a fertility clinic after 18 months because we had known before hand that getting pregnant naturally wasn’t likely.
