How to ask your partner if they've been checked?

In the beginning stages of being sexually active with someone, what is the best way to ask if they have been checked recently?

And should you go ahead and just believe them?

I would just ask for them to go get checked before sleeping together just to be safe.
Or suggest going together. 
Also a lot of stds have no symptoms but if u see anything weird like a bump or nasty cuts or a weird smell definltey back away. 
Always always use protection till the day u commit to one another & are mature and in a healthy relationship. & are ready for kids.

I always ask before, and Im straight up when I ask. I dont like to beat around the bush. But honestly not many guys get checked like us women do (even though they should) and if they take offense to the question just let them know that you are looking out for yourself and not trying to offend them

I flat out ask! I always ask to see current paperwork for hiv and std check. My moms a nurse and worked at the health dept so I've heard some pretty nasty stories. I don't want anything so if they don't have current up to date paperwork we don't have sex until they get it. But that's just me :)

This is a very hard to answer! And to know if they tell you the truth or if they even know if they have a STD.  
You have all the right to ask the other person if it has any STD.   And if you can still use condom to protect yourself.  The best will be both go to get tested before sex.  But I don't know if everyone would like to wait. Sounds complicated.  So best!  Use CONdOmS
