When are you announcing baby’s birth?

I ask because we plan on announcing next day and only telling our parents the day of baby’s birth so we aren’t bombarded with visitors. It was horrible when we announced the same day with our previous too.

Family later in the day, and social media will wait a few days. Honestly, when our first was born, we were so tired that we forgot to tell anyone (besides my mom and sister that were at the hospital) until around 10 hours later. 😂

It depends. If I give birth at night then next day. If I give birth in morning then that evening. But with my first I didn’t get bombarded, and people called or texted ahead of time to make sure we were cool with a visit and to ask what time and day would be helped. 
Although because of C section I was there for more days than normal. Made it possible to spread people out more I think. But if in your experience too many come close together I would definitely hold off announcements.

I think it depends on the time of day sheMs born. With my first, she was born at 11:21 at night so we waited until the next day

Parents and immediate family day of. Everyone else, whenever... I'm not gung  ho on the idea of being bombarded with hospital visitors or people wanting to come to our house when I'm bleeding like crazy and have an ice pack on my crotch, and of course crazy exhausted from giving birth and not being able to rest much in the hospital.

We are probably announcing same day or next. But I am not putting my hospital location and my bulldog momma will be there to hold my phone and field all calls. That way my hubby and I can be with baby. 
She has strict marching orders and luckily my overbearing mom will be happy to keep the baby all to ourselves for the first few days and will tell people what is expected ❤️

We are going to announce to close family and friends a couple hours after, and social media either the day of, or the following morning. We also do not want to be bombarded with visitors.

With my first we didn't announce until after all immediate family had met him. Ended up being 5 days after he was born. Doing the same this time round. Only other person that will meet baby before we announce will be whoever has our Son while I'm in labour, but that might end up being a family member anyway. But we've already said that the first one to meet him will be our Son.

I will announce it the same day. But to my friends and family we talked already on person or message about that please ask before come over because we want a little time for us...also because we don't a lot of people close to our newborn. So everyone understand it and told us that let us know when they can visit.
