Theater - doing it as a hobby

I am 24 and I really just want to start doing theater as a hobby. Like on weekenights and weekends after work. I never did it in school and always wanted to. I grew up in a choir but that’s pretty much it. I know I can sing, but I really want to challenge myself and do this for fun. Anyone out there do it for fun???
