bf has little money. i feel like i am very considerate of that. but he just suggested we go to Buffalo Wild Wings for VALENTINES DAY and i’m kinda like really. he likes it there but i’ve expressed to him like it’s not one of my favorite places. am i being bitchy? i just feel like it’s a little jab at me.

if it’s about you not liking the food, maybe suggest to him a restaurant you’d prefer that has a similar price point. if it’s just bc you want to go somewhere more expensive, then go ahead and suggest it but keeping in mind his financial situation you should offer to split the bill. i’m broke and my boyfriend knows i’m broke, but i still try to treat him every once in awhile and if he ever suggested that it wasnt good enough i’d be super upset! what about a romantic dinner cooked at home??

I would suggest somewhere else, because I agree BWW gets way too crowded and very loud. I would suggest a restaurant with similar pricing that you like more. As long as you’re not complaining out the price of the food being too low, I don’t think you’re in the wrong at all. No one wants to go on a date to somewhere they don’t like.

You’re wrong for being ungrateful that he’s taking you to a restaurant that you don’t think is up to your standard for valentine’s day but if it’s not something you’re keen on and he is still taking you then I would say something too. There’s no point him spending money on a meal you won’t enjoy. But you should suggest something else that works for both of you, don’t just expect him to arrange something. If you know he is tight on money, why not plan something that means neither of you have to spend a lot, if any?
