How many ultrasounds is too many?

I had one 3 weeks ago to find out gender, but kind of want to have one again this weekend. I won’t have another until my anatomy scan on the 26th. Then nothing after that unless I pay at a private place. Should I do it?

Research suggests and doctors recommend only having them when medically necessary... there is a paper produced by the NHS (uk health service) which warns against ‘souvenir scanning’ .... the risks are unknown .

Ultrasounds aren’t like x rays they are just sound waves. You’re fine having multiple. Most doctors just don’t fine it necessarily to keep doing them that’s why you only get a few.

If you want to do it. I personally wouldn’t if I had one that close. I would probably pay to have one done around the 30 week mark when I know the doctor won’t be doing anymore.

I have one every time I go to the dr. As of 19 weeks, I've had around 6-7.

With my daughter I had weekly ultrasounds from 16-37 weeks. And a few months where I had biweekly ultrasounds. She’s 3.5 and fine. 
This go around I’ve had 4 so far and 2 more planned ones coming up.

I’m 17 weeks tomorrow and have had...maybe 10 already?! Lol I had bleeding in the beginning so every time I bled, they wanted to check the baby....sometimes every other day. You’ll be fine! I wouldn’t do too many on your own but if the doctors want to do them, I wouldn’t say no.

I hope there's not too many lol I'm 16w1d and have had probably around 10... I'm a high risk so they've been motoring me pretty well. The longest time I've gone without an ultrasound is 3 weeks? Right now I have a month wait til my gender scan on the 25th. (So long as I don't have any issues they'll see me sooner if needed) which is fine for me, just let's me know they think things are going well enough not to have me in.

Theyre not as bad as everyone makes them out to seem. Everyone thinks that it’s radiation that gives us the ability to see them when really its just vibrations! Which we all know can’t hurt the lil bean so I wouldn’t worry!
