high school relationship

so me and this guy have know each other since kindergarten and we are now freshman in high school. he knew i liked him and he would say he liked me but then deny it days later. he would also complement me. we stopped talking for a couple months but the other night he texted me and we talked all night. but then last night he called me baby. idk how i should feel about him or the situation. help?!?!
