Bassinet?

Question

So I’m considering getting this bassinet off Amazon for $80.

Does anyone have recommendations or opinions for an affordable bedside sleeper? I prefer the ones that lay flat. I’m being induced next week and am really just not comfortable with the one I have. This is similar to the one I have and I’ve heard great things and all my mom friends used them.

But it makes me nervous that the edges come up around baby. Am I silly for thinking this could be a safety hazard and they could have trouble breathing?

Babies are dying in the rock and play. It forces their chins forward and cuts off their air supply. I threw mine in the garbage

Its definitely a safety hazard. They all come with warnings to not use for overnight sleep.
We had a pack n play with infant inserts. Most babies outgrow bassinets quickly, but you can use a pack n play for 2 years or more.

I ordered the Miclassic from amazon and it just arrived this week. It is bigger than i thought it was going to be. BUT it folds up with 1 pull of a strap and has a bag to put it away in if you want to travel with it. Plus the entire fabric piece can zip off to be washed which is nice. Easy to switch from rocking to stationary too. Cant wait to use it when baby arrives next month.

I would go for the bassinet over the rock and play for night and nap time sleep. The rock and play is definitely a hazard as baby is not laying flat on their back, regardless of what others have told you I would not take the risk with my baby.  It could be helpful to set baby in while you are showering or eating but don't let baby sleep in it. 
On a side note: Just know everyone will have their opinion, myself included 😆, no matter what you do or don't do. I've heard "oh they will be fine" or " I did x, y or z with my kid and look how they turned out".  It comes down to what you are comfortable with and what your gut tells you and what risk/benefit you are willing to take on for your child. If in doubt ask your doctor/pediatrician!

My baby slept in the rock and play for the first 2 months of her life. The sides were mesh so air does flow through. It was helpful that she was elevated. I was never worried with her in there. But with that said I’d recommend a halo bassinet or a pack and play if you want more use out of it.
