NIPT Testing??

Is this something that everyone should get?? Is it necessary?? Does it just cause worry?? Thoughts?? Is it for high risk people only?

In my opinion, it was totally worth it. We were high risk for my last pregnancy and it really helped knowing either way earlier on. We are going to do it again this time, knowing we will probably have to pay out of pocket.

Its not necessary. If you arent high risk, i wouldnt get it.

NIPT is 99% accurate so it doesn't cause worry because a false positive is so unlikely. I got it done because it's a non invasive test vs cvs or amniocentesis. Even if they found something wrong and you won't terminate, I still think it's a good thing to know. But if you're not high risk it usually isn't covered by insurance so you'd need to find out the exact cost if you can pay it
