Gallstones, anyone?
Has anyone else learned they have gallstones during their pregnancy? I've been to the ER, consulted my General, and my OBGYN about it because it seems like no matter how good I try to be with my food choices, everything triggers them. It feels like someone is stabbing me just below my ribcage with a samurai sword and the pain lasts about 4 hours, usually. During that time I have shortness of breath, can't do anything, can't think about anything but the pain, and vomit up everything!
I was told that there's nothing that can be done until after the pregnancy, then we'll do surgery. But the episodes now happen a couple times a week instead of once every other week.
I'm 24 weeks, 5'10", with a B-belly. I got really sick the first trimester and lost 20 lbs (from 302 to 282), and will continue to lose weight because of gallstone diet changes.
For those who currently have or have had gallstones, what helped? Or what recipes were pain-free for you?
