Never underestimate a mothers instinct! 💪🏼

Last night I just knew my 3 week old baby girl wasn’t 100%, so phoned NHS24 and within 30 minutes she was in the Children’s Ward with oxygen helping her to breathe! 😭 As a parent it’s the worst most scary thing possible to see your child struggling to breathe and not being able to help them! After having mucus sucked from her nose and some monitoring over night she was able to breathe normally on her own again. We’re now home and thankful it was mucus that was the problem and nothing more serious. ❤️ never be scared to phone NHS24 for advice - nothing is “too stupid” to ask about!

**PARENTAL INFORMATION**

When we struggle to breathe/or take a big deep breathe in our necks go inwards at the front (I tried to take a picture of myself doing it in the photo below)

If you see your child’s neck do this or the muscles under their ribs going inwards with each breath they are also struggling to breathe! I didn’t know this was signs to look for when worried about your baby/child’s breathing! Hopefully we never have to look for these signs again but maybe this will help someone in future too as if I knew that before I’d have phoned NHS a lot sooner
