How to announce to someone who won’t be happy for you?

Has anyone had to announce their pregnancy to a family member that you know won’t be happy for you?  I have 1 person left to tell and I don’t expect a great reaction.  I want to do it over a phone call my husband says to just send a picture of the ultrasound over text.  I think the phone call will give this person less of a reason to turn my pregnancy around and make it about themselves 
I’m curious to hear how others may have handled delivering the news to someone less than pleasant?

I went through this. It was my sis in law, sadly. When we told her, her expression was just 'oh congrats'. And i felt it so funny. My opinion is just that dont think too much like I did. I hated to tell her just because I know she won't be happy. But i did anyway and after that, i stayed away from her. I pray that God bless you and your baby. ❤

Totally understand. I still haven't told my mother because she always makes everything about herself. I gathered up the courage to tell her a couple of days ago but she blew me off so she still doesn't know. I wish I knew she was going to care but I don't think she will.

For us that person is my father in law.
We told everyone but him & he found out on social media with everyone else that wasn’t top priority before the post. I told him he isn’t worth it to me and isn’t allowed to be involved with the pregnancy. Lol but im petty af but hes a piece of shit person so🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I sent an ultrasound picture via text and a message announcing it to her. I didn’t want to corner her or catch her off guard, and I also just didn’t want to have to suffer her reaction, whatever it was going to be. It took her several hours to respond to the text, and that still stung so it’s not a perfect plan, but at least it took the pressure and awkwardness out of it for both of us.

I don’t have any advice but my mom won’t be happy for me and I haven’t told her. I’m 33, have a great job and two other kids, married to an awesome man, and this child is very wanted. Still, she’s just an evil person. She says I’m not doing right by my children by having a career, and she thinks that I neglect them because I work and have to travel for that occasionally.
It’s terrible.
I don’t want to tell her at all, but I have to before I announce publicly next week. Dreading it.

I'm 13 weeks and my own mom still dies n it even know in pregnant:/ we don't have a relationship,  she isn't a part of my son, her grandsons life. She is still upset I married someone and divorced him a month later because of some things I later discovered, and she paid for the wedding venue, we haven't spoke in a year now. Honestly in probably not even going to tell her. If you and your significant other are happy, screw them. If it is making you this upset just thinking of telling them then why even bother. ?

That one person is my sister and I still haven’t told her. 😂🤷🏽‍♀️ she’s not active in my life, nor does she care to be. No sweat off my brow.
