When to go hospital?

FTM 40+2 and been having contractions since 5am there now 6/7 mins apart and I’m an hour away from hospital, when should I go 5 apart? 
I rang they just said to stay here until I cannot take the pain... didn’t really help 🤷‍♀️
No waters or mucas lost yet.

I say this because you’re a FTM and it might be awhile and you might only be dilated 2-3 cm. If your water breaks, go in

I wouldn’t go in yet. I’d wait until they are 5 minutes apart or less for an hour and the contractions last 60 secs or longer. I know it’s exciting but try to stay home. Take a shower, eat a light snack if you can.

With my first... I never lost my plug or had my water break at home, so I’d go in when they’re about five minutes apart.  I also like to share that mine were never consistently 5 minutes apart.  So I’d go when it’s becoming unbearable and maybe a little closer together.  Good luck.
